Resort Description
The All Star Movies resort, the most recent of Disney's All Star
Resorts, opened in January 1999. Five film-inspired themed areas round out the resort. Fantasia, Toy Story, 101
Dalmatians, the Mighty Ducks and the Love Bug were some of Disney's most beloved movies and now are immortalized as areas
and buildings that compile the All Star Movies Resort. As Disney loves to do things larger than life, this resort is
compliant with that theme. In the 101 Dalmatians buildings, you'll find a 40 foot tall Pongo and a 35 foot tall Perdita,
with Dalmatians characters along the railings outside the buildings. There is a fire hydrant covering the outside stairwell,
with paw prints and dog bones "embedded" in the cement walkways. A television screen frame (where you are the "star") with
a Dalmatian watching the TV, provides guests with photo opportunities. Toy Story lovers will enjoy the 35 foot
tall Buzz Lightyear, a 25 foot tall Woody with Green Army Men lining the tops of the building. A "Herbie" VW bug that
is 5 times its normal size adorns the Love Bug building. Sorcerer's paraphernalia such as giant Sorcerer's hats, spell
books, brooms and buckets, ballerinas and nutcracker-like soldiers will be found around the Fantasia buildings. Sports fans
will be delighted at the giant hockey sticks, pucks, nets and duck-billed masks found at the Mighty Ducks buildings where
31 foot tall goalie masks cover the outside stairwells. Being surrounded by these fun, colorful, and whimsical icons
only add to your 24 hour a day magical Disney stay in the All Star Movies Resort.

The newest All Star resort has 1,920 rooms. The rooms all feature a framed
poster and border of the building’s movie theme. Each of these rooms will
have 2 double beds (or one king sized bed which must be requested when making your reservation), nightstand, telephone, small
table with 2 chairs, armoire, television, wall mirror, clock radio and an open closet area with shelves on top for extra storage. A vanity area with a single sink and mirror is separate from the tub and commode. Film reel tiles surround the tub and shower curtains adorned with stars enclose the
shower area. The light fixtures are shaped like popcorn boxes and star fixtures
to further carry out the movie theme. A small key-operated wall safe to hold
your valuables, is located in the closet area. All rooms are equipped with central air
conditioning. Guests who need to connect to home or work via the Internet while
vacationing, will find a computer data port near the nightstand and you will not have to disconnect the telephone to use it.
There
are 96 disabled-accessible rooms that will have a larger bathroom with a wheelchair-accessible shower in place of a tub.
Non-smoking and connecting rooms may also be requested. The rooms are 260 square
feet and sleep 4, or 4 plus a child under the age of 3 in a crib. Roll-away cots may be requested for siblings who do not
wish to share a bed, (there is a $15 per night charge for this). Also available
are bed boards, bed rails and cribs (the pak-n-play variety) call Housekeeping to request.
If there are more than 2 adults in the same room, there is an additional charge of
$10 per person, per night.
The following are
available by calling Housekeeping, but supplies may be limited on some items: irons
and ironing boards, hair dryers, extra pillows, blankets and towels. Rooms with a view of the pool or themed courtyards are
available.
TIP: The Fantasia buildings
are the closest to the food court, bus stop and the Fantasia pool. Those who
prefer a lower traffic, quieter area, should request the Love Bug buildings. Guests
staying in the Mighty Ducks buildings may find it closer to catch the bus at the stop in front of the All Star Music Resort’s
Melody Hall.
Check-in is at 4 p.m. and checkout is at
11 a.m. A late checkout time may be requested, but this should be requested upon
your arrival.
- 1344 non-smoking
rooms

bed rooms that are handicapped accessible
- 960 connecting rooms
POOLS & RECREATION
Although Blizzard Beach is nearby, guests who wish to swim at the All Star Movies will find two themed pools
here. Fantasia, the main pool is found between the Fantasia buildings and Cinema
Hall. A large Sorcerer Mickey stands ready to work his magic at one end of the
pool, where water sprays from his fingers. Between the Mighty Duck buildings,
and not far from the 101 Dalmatians buildings, you will find the Duck Pond pool. This
pool is hockey-themed with face-off circles painted on the bottom of the pool as well as on the deck, and with Goofy starring
as the goalie. A kiddy pool is found beside the Fantasia pool. There is not a Jacuzzi at this resort. Change-rooms and restrooms
are located at each pool area. Pool hours are from 8am - Midnight with lifeguards on duty from 10am-10pm (quiet hours
are from 10pm-Midnight).
TIP: Guests must bring the towels from their rooms for use at the pool and call housekeeping
for additional towels for your room to replenish your supply.
In Cinema
Hall, the Reel Fun Arcade provides guests with state-of-the-art video games for their enjoyment. Open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m., the games utilize tokens that a guest can purchase in the arcade. Some of the
games reward players with tickets that can be redeemed for prizes. Between the Toy Story buildings and Cinema Hall, you’ll
find the children’s playground where the little tykes can burn off some energy.
